In this issue of Vostok Magazine, portraits unfold that capture diverse moments of life, from youth to old age. Photography has always engaged deeply with the theme of “youth and aging.” People, too, have long desired and been curious about the images of youth and old age preserved in photographs. Both photography and people are reluctant to let go of their most radiant moments, and both harbor a lingering attachment to the final pose of a life.

From birth to death, photographs accompany every stage of our life cycle, and in time, we begin to resemble the images captured within them.

VOSTOK PRESS is an independent publishing house based in Seoul. Korea. It publishes a bimonthly photography magazine, VOSTOK, and books on arts and photography. VOSTOK PRESS organizes exhibitions and events, directs lectures and workshops. It also carries out projects for institutions and private companies.
