Encounter by Ron Mueck

Since emerging in the late 1990s with the hyperrealistic sculptures that brought him international acclaim, Ron Mueck (born in Melbourne in 1958, lives and works in England) has continued his profound exploration of human experience and emotion. This publication accompanies his first exhibition in Australia, presented at the Art Gallery of New South Wales until 12 April. Ranging from miniature to monumental in scale, his sculptures embody themes of birth and death, alienation and togetherness, inviting us to reflect on our relationship with the world.
